PIKUBOTS GET THE GAME

Arcade mech arena

Ten robots. Nine weapons. One thumb on the trigger.

PikuBots is a mech arena game made for a phone held in two hands. Pick a chassis, carry three weapons and a shoulder launcher, and fight five a side over a scrapyard or an ice dock. Matches run a few minutes. Bots fill any empty seat, so a match starts when you do.

The roster

Ten robots

Every chassis carries the same three weapon slots. What changes is height, footing and how much damage the frame takes before it falls. Scouts get there first, heavies stay, siege holds the ground it stands on.

The Verge chassis

Medium · Halcyon

VERGE-1 Verge

The frame every pilot starts on: 4.2 m, even speed, even armour, nothing to learn around.

The Mote chassis

Scout · Halcyon

MOTE-2 Mote

At 3.6 m the lightest frame in the roster. It takes the first corner and the first capture.

The Cairn chassis

Heavy · Cinder

CAIRN-3 Cairn

4.8 m of plate. It holds a lane while the rest of the team gets somewhere useful.

The Vane chassis

Scout · Corvid

HARRIER-3 Vane

A 3.9 m raider built for the flank, the roof and the second jump.

The Wick chassis

Medium · Halcyon

SABLE-4 Wick

3.8 m, quick to aim and quick to leave. A duellist's frame for one on one trades.

The Derrick chassis

Heavy · Corvid

DERRICK-5 Derrick

4.6 m of dock crane. It carries the heaviest guns without giving up its footing.

The Slag chassis

Heavy · Cinder

SLAG-6 Slag

4.3 m of furnace steel, wide in the shoulders and happiest inside twenty metres.

The Shrike chassis

Medium · Halcyon

SHRIKE-7 Shrike

4.1 m balanced for the middle lane and the long trade across it.

The Auger chassis

Heavy · Corvid

AUGER-8 Auger

4.5 m of drill rig. It opens the ground in front of it and then stands in the hole.

The Moraine chassis

Siege · Cinder

PILLAR-9 Moraine

5.0 m, the tallest frame on the field and the slowest to change its mind.

The kit

Nine weapons

Three of them ride in the hands and switch with a tap. The Waspnest sits on the shoulder and has a slot of its own. Every number below is the number the game runs on.

The Rattler assault cannon

Assault cannon

Rattler

Full auto, 9 damage a shot out to 90 m, sixty rounds and a 1.6 s reload.

The Stinger machine pistol

Machine pistol

Stinger

A shot every 0.06 s for 6 damage, forty five rounds, all of it close work under 25 m.

The Spur sidearm

Sidearm

Spur

Semi auto, 24 damage a shot, twelve rounds and the fastest reload in the game at 1.2 s.

The Quill crossbow

Crossbow

Quill

A 78 damage bolt that leaves at 70 m/s and drops on the way. Five to a magazine.

The Husk shotgun

Shotgun

Husk

Eight pellets a pull at 13 each, worth the most inside 12 m, six shells before the reload.

The Needle railgun

Railgun

Needle

A 1.2 s charge for 130 damage at 200 m. The longest reach on the field, and the slowest.

The Lancet beam rifle

Beam rifle

Lancet

A 0.75 s charge for 46 energy damage at 140 m, with no drop and no travel time.

The Bramble rocket pod

Rocket pod

Bramble

Four rockets at 38 m/s: 48 on the hit and 55 more to anything inside 3.5 m.

The Waspnest missile pod

Shoulder launcher

Waspnest

Six missiles a salvo after a 0.45 s lock, on its own slot and its own button.

The ground

Two arenas

Both are built from a table of pieces, so cover sits where the fight needs it and every match starts from the same known spawns.

The Ironyard arena

Outdoor · 180 m by 140 m

Ironyard

A scrapyard under grey fog: two hangars, a wide middle lane and stacks to climb on either side. Long sight lines down the centre and short ones everywhere else.

The Coldstack arena

Indoor · 92 m by 72 m

Coldstack

A cold store with three doorways into the same room. Tight, loud and decided at close range, with an apron outside for anyone who wants air.
